The Spotter
This scene depicts a century farm with the owner's collection of spent automobiles and
farm implements. What a great find this would be to an avid "tin hunter".
Many years ago, in my early days of restoring antique cars, my friend Alf Vandam, who
owned a Cessna 150 aircraft, would take me flying across southern Alberta and
Saskatchewan on tin hunting expeditions. It was a great advantage in finding those out of
the way car collections which were just out of sight from the normally travelled roads. I
used a Tiger Moth biplane in this image to depict the advantage of "the spotter" and to
add some nostalgic appeal to the painting. If you look real close, you will see that the
right side of the painting exactly matches the left so that you could slice your copy at
any spot vertically and match the opposite ends to create a new custom image
This image is also available as wallpaper border and is sold through this site, and retail
